Course Objectives:
1.To covers the topics of shaft design with due consideration based on strength and rigidity.
2.To learn the design procedure of flat belts and connecting rod of IC engines.
3.To understand about journal bearings design, ball and roller bearings, spur gear and helical gear deign
considerations.
Course Outcomes:
CO1:Design shafts based on strength, rigidity and design for static and fatigue loads, design
flat belts and connecting rod of IC engines.
CO2:Design clutches and brakes
CO3:Analyse sliding contact bearings and understand design procedure of journal, ball
and roller bearings.
